What is the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme?

The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) is a government initiative by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to provide financial assistance to startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product development, and market entry. Funds are available up to ₹20 lakhs as a grant for proof of concept and prototype development, and up to ₹50 lakhs as convertible debentures or debt-based investment for market entry. The scheme aims to bridge the funding gap for early-stage startups that struggle to secure venture capital or angel investment.

Who Can Apply?

• Startups recognized by DPIIT under the Startup India initiative
• Startups that are less than 2 years old at the time of application
• Businesses with innovative and scalable ideas that have the potential for employment generation or wealth creation
• Startups that have not received more than ₹10 lakhs of grant or monetary support from any other Central or State Government scheme
• Companies, LLPs, or partnerships (not individuals or sole proprietors)
